The first lady of Bollywood, actress Jaya Bachchan celebrates her 66th birthday today with family and friends. Populary known as ‘Guddi’ she was born on April 9, 1948 in a Hindu Bengali family. She started her career with a supporting role in Satyajit Ray’s Bengali film Mahanagar, at the age of 15. Her portrayal of Guddi in 1971 established her as a girl-next-door.

Jaya Bachchan is known as one of the finest Hindi film actresses of her time. But for Jaya Bachchan it was family first. Married to megastar Amitabh Bachchan she has two children Abhishek Bachchan and Shweta Nanda, and now mother-in-law to the most beautiful lady in the world Aishwarya Rai. Jaya has three grandchildren Navya Naveli, Agastya Nanda and Aaradhya Bachchan.
