Kabir Khan Tubelight flop

Kabir Khan and Salman Khan failed to make the hat-trick of blockbusters as their third collaboration ‘Tubelight’ failed miserably at the box office. And recently, while talking to a news agency about the film not getting a good response at the box office, Kabir stated that it is disappointing and disheartening.

The director said, “I am disappointed. You make a film with a lot of love and conviction and if it doesn’t do well the way it was expected to do, it’s disheartening.”

However, ‘Tubelight’ will be a special film for Kabir. The director further said, “We can’t expect every film to do the business like ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’. Every film of mine is put against ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ and it is unfair. I am extremely proud of ‘Tubelight’. It’s too early to analyse what went wrong with the film. Maybe people were not able to identify with the character of Salman. But I was happy with what Salman did and even he was playing this part.” (Also Read: After ‘Tubelight’, Kabir Khan is venturing into web series and THIS actress is a part of it)

There have been reports that Salman will be giving back Rs 50-55 crore to distributors as they have faced a huge loss. When Kabir was asked about it, he said, “I am not a producer, I am a line producer of the film. I can’t talk about it as it’s about business. I think it is a great thing. It’s a good gesture by Salman. (But) For the film itself the cost is successful.”
