Bollywood actor and Aamir Khan’s nephew, Imran Khan rose to fame with his debut film, Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na. He later starred in multiple films which gained recognition but unfortunately tanked at the box office. Imran has been on an acting hiatus since 2015’s Katti Batti, but in the last few months, there has been a renewed interest in the actor ever since his news of comeback surfaced. He has also been in the limelight for his personal life and separation from Avantika Malik. In a recent interview, Imran Khan addressed the claims of Lekha Washington being called a homewrecker as he confirms dating her post-divorce with Avantika.

Imran Khan gets angry at netizens calling Lekha Washington a homewrecker

Confirming his relationship with Lekha, Imran in an interview shared, “The speculation that I’m romantically involved with Lekha Washington is true. I’m divorced and have been separated since February 2019. There’s this narrative of Lekha being a homewrecker, which infuriates me because not only is it misogynistic but it also takes away my agency as an individual”. He added, “Lekha and I grew close during the lockdown, a year and a half after I had been separated from Avantika and almost a year after she had separated from her partner, not husband as it has been widely reported.”

For those unversed, Imran Khan was previously married to Avantika Malik. They separated in 2019. They have a daughter together, Imara.

Imran on his battle with mental health

Imran then opened up about seeking therapy and revealed that he has been visiting a therapist four times a week for the last seven years. He called it a ‘defining decision’ and shared, “If you speak to someone who has given up an addiction or gone off alcohol, they could tell you the exact number of days they’ve been sober. It’s the same for me with my mental health. It’s been 2,500 days since I started my analysis on March 13, 2017.”

Since last year, there has been a renewed interest in the actor. Speculations are rife that the actor is all set to make a comeback in the movies. However, no official announcement has been made yet. A few media reports surfaced last year suggested that Imran Khan could be collaborating with his Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na director Abbas Tyrewala for his acting comeback project.
