Imtiaz Ali Thanks Dhurandhar The Revenge Makers For ‘Bringing Audience To Theatres’; Admits He Hasn’t Seen The Ranveer Singh Starrer Yet

Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali has expressed his appreciation to the creators of Dhurandhar 2 for boosting theatre attendance with their film. Sharing his happiness over the film’s strong theatrical success at the International Film Festival of Delhi 2026, Imtiaz also admitted that he has yet to watch the movie.

“I haven’t seen Dhurandhar yet, but I know there are many beautiful elements in it. People liked it a lot, and I want to thank the team for bringing audiences to theaters. I hope this continues. Congratulations to the Dhurandhar team,” Imtiaz Ali shared with the media at IFFD 2026. The film, directed by Aditya Dhar, features stars like Ranveer Singh, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Rakesh Bedi, and Sanjay Dutt in pivotal roles. Since its release on March 19, the movie has crossed Rs 800 crore at the box office.

Imtiaz’s Next

Meanwhile, Imtiaz Ali is gearing up for his next project. It is a heartfelt love story titled ‘Main Vaapas Aaunga,’ which also stars Diljit Dosanjh. This marks another collaboration between the actor and director after ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’ in 2024. The film also features Vedang Raina, Sharvari, and Naseeruddin Shah in key roles. The 1-minute 13-second teaser opens with narration by Diljit Dosanjh, introducing Naseer’s poignant love story as he lies in a hospital bed.

About Main Vaapas Aaunga

In the film, Vedang Raina plays Naseer’s younger self, while Sharvari portrays his love interest. The teaser hints that the story revolves around “love and longing”. It is set against the backdrop of the partition of India and Pakistan in 1947. Music for the film is composed by AR Rahman, with lyrics by Irshad Kamil. The movie is produced by Sameer Nair, Deepak Segal, Mohit Choudhary, and Shibhasish Sarkar under Window Seat Film, presented by Applause Entertainment.

‘Main Vaapas Aaunga’ is scheduled to release in theatres on June 12.
