With the Coronavirus pandemic scare on a rage, movies and their business has been affected big time. Filmmakers have been pushing ahead the release dates until things settle down well. Irrfan Khan and Kareena Kapoor’s much-awaited film ‘Angrezi Medium’ hit the screens this Friday, but following the protocol now, the movie will get a re-release amidst the coronavirus outbreak.

This happened because on the same day as ‘Angrezi Medium’s release, for the safety concerns of Mumbaikars, Mumbai CM Uddhav Thackeray requested all to avoid public gatherings hence affecting theatres too. Throughout India, many states have ordered cinema halls to be shut amid the Coronavirus.

Since the theatres shut down at midnight, the makers have decided on re-releasing the film. Taking to his Insta story, director Homi Adajania announced, “At midnight all theaters will be close across India till authorities give us further notice. We will re-release #AngreziMedium when it is safe to do so. Till then stay safe and be kind to each other. #johaisohai.

Apart from Coronavirus, there is also another reason that will hamper the business of ‘Angrezi Medium’ is that it has already been leaked online and therefore it won’t do much good for the makers to re-release, as once the genie is outta the bottle, it’s very difficult to get it back in.

The outbreak of the deadly Coronavirus is spreading like a wildfire, which started off infecting people from Wuhan, China and now it’s all across the globe. People are taking safety measures by wearing masks and washing their hands frequently.
