‘Jabariya Jodi’ makers have announced a new release date of the film. Instead of July 12, the film will now hit theatres on August 2. The Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra starrer can now breathe a sigh of relief as they would not have to clash at the box-office with Hrithik Roshan‘s ‘Super 30’.

Trade expert Taran Adarsh took to social media to announce the news. He wrote, “IT’S OFFICIAL… New release date for #JabariyaJodi… Will now release on 2 Aug 2019… Stars Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra… Directed by Prashant Singh… Produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ekta Kapoor and Shaailesh R Singh (sic).

It all began with Kangana Ranaut and Ekta Kapoor deciding to push the release date of ‘Mental Hai Kya’ to July 26, the same date on which Hrithik Roshan was set to release ‘Super 30’. Now, whenever there would be Hrithik and Kangana’s name together in the news, it was sure to make big headlines. Hrithik didn’t want to go through the trauma again and therefore decided to not release the film on the same day.

Soon afterwards, Hrithik decided to shift the release date of ‘Super 30’ to July 12. Now, the film would clash with Ekta Kapoor’s other film, ‘Jabariya Jodi’, which was to release on that day.

As Hrithik and Ekta are good friends, they mutually decided to help each other out. While Hrithik gave ‘Mental Hai Kya’ a solo release date, Ekta returned the favour by giving ‘Super 30’ a solo release date and pushed her ‘Jabariya Jodi’ to August 2.

While ‘Super 30’ and ‘Mental Hai Kya’ can now breathe a sigh of relief to have gotten clear Friday releases, it seems that ‘Jabariya Jodi’ will still have to suffer a clash. The film will hit theatres on the same day as that of Akshaye Khanna-Richa Chadha starrer ‘Section 375’. Let’s wait and watch whether ‘Jabariya Jodi’ is able to save itself from the clash or not.
