Janhvi Kapoor is one of the most active actresses on social media. Janhvi recently opened up about playing relatable, small-town girl characters in her films while maintaining a glam image on social media. The actress confessed that if she looks cute in pictures, it helps her get more brands and she’s able to pay for EMIs with ease.

Janhvi’s Instagram is filled with glam shots and cute photos. On the other hand, in most of her films, fans have seen her play relatable and middle-class characters. In a recent interview, Janhvi opened up the difference. She told Galatta Plus, “I have been told things like these. ‘The kind of films that you are doing are of a certain beat and your social media presence is quite a contradiction. It will make people harder to buy as those characters if they keep seeing you in this get up’.”

Janhvi added that she’s trying to protect herself from being calculative. She also stated that it might throw people off to see her in a Manish Malhotra saree and then in a kurta in a film. But that is her job, her art. She added, “I feel very deeply about it and I want to be as real and authentic about it as possible. But I’m not that person in real life. That’s the point of being an actor.”

The actress went on to add that her social media is to have fun and maybe to get more brands to help her pay off her EMIs. She said, “I don’t want to take it so seriously. My social media is for me to have fun. Hopefully if I look cute and five extra people like my pictures, I’ll get another brand and I’ll be able to pay for my EMIs with more ease than I was before.”
