Kajol Shares Secret Of Her Happy Marriage With Ajay Devgn; Admits, “We Would Have Separated Long Before”

Ajay Devgn and Kajol, one of the most popular couples of Bollywood, prove that opposites attract. While the Singham Again actor is known for his calm and composed demeanour, the actress often lights up the room with her vivacious personality. In a recent interview while promoting her film Maa, Kajol shares how this contrasting personality is a secret to her happy marriage with Ajay Devgn, which would have otherwise led to separation.

In a recent interview with Mashable India, the actress shares how their opposite energies have made this relationship sustain. She quips, “Ajay and I are completely different otherwise hum logo ko itne saal nahi lagte (it wouldn’t have taken us so long), we would have separated long before.”

Kajol further continues, “I say this quite often that the secret to happy marriage is partial deafness and selective amnesia. You really need to forget certain things about your partner and sometimes unhearing things they said. It is very important.”

She added, “We don’t have date nights and all that. Hum yeh sab nahi karte hai (We don’t do all this). We mostly have family time because it is very rare that we spend time at home together. Either he is working or travelling or I am working or travelling. So whenever we find some time, we try and stay at home with everybody else. No date nights as such.” On a fun note, she even praises Ajay’s culinary skills and reveals how he is one of the best cooks she has come across.

Not only in real life, but also in reel life, the couple wooed the audience with their chemistry. They first met on the sets of Hulchul in 1995. After dating for nearly four years, the couple tied the knot in 1999. They are now parents to Yug and Nysa with whom they are often seen on outings.
