Farah Khan recently shared a revealing anecdote about veteran South actor Kamal Haasan, whom she approached for her directorial debut, Main Hoon Na. She recalled that she initially wanted him to play the antagonist, Raghavan Dutta, but he politely declined.

During a recent podcast on her YouTube channel featuring Shruti Haasan, Farah reminisced, “Kamal sir was my first choice for Main Hoon Na, but then Suniel Shetty played that role. I went to Chennai to his office and narrated him the script, and he politely asked me to duck off.”

While she chose not to disclose the exact reason behind his refusal, her revelation has sparked curiosity and raised eyebrows about the veteran actor’s decision. Later, the role of the antagonist was played by Suniel Shetty. At a recent event, Suniel Shetty reacted to fans calling his role as Raghavan Dutta a true patriot. He said, “Jo desh ke baare mein sochta hai, use koi galat nahi samjh sakta. Woh desh ho aage rakhta hai no matter what. “

Main Hoon Na marked Farah Khan’s directorial debut. It starred Shah Rukh Khan, Sushmita Sen, Suniel Shetty, Amrita Rao, and Zayed Khan. Also seen were Kirron Kher, Murali Sharma, Kabir Bedi, Boman Irani, and Naseeruddin Shah. Released on April 30, 2004, the film was a commercial hit.
