kangana ranaut summoned

‘Queen’ actress Kangana Ranaut was recently summoned by the Khar police for allegedly defaulting over a real estate brokerage. The complainant, a real estate agent, has alleged that the actor had purchased a bungalow in Pali Hill in 2017 but had not paid him in full for striking the deal.

The property in question is a bungalow that the actor had bought in September 2017. The total area of the bungalow located at the upmarket Pali Hill area is 3,075 sq ft. The bungalow, which earlier had a playschool, is part of Chetak Co-operative Housing Society on Nargis Dutt road. Along with the bungalow, the actor has also got a 565 sq ft car parking space.

As per reports in DNA, Prakkash G Rohira of Karma realtors, had approached Khar Police station during July-end. He gave a confidential written complaint stating that he was the broker in a deal where Ranaut bought a bungalow and he hasn’t been paid the complete consideration by the actor and her staff. The broker filed a complaint against Kangana her sister Rangoli and other members of the staff.

However, the claim was denied by Kangana who claimed that she, via her finance team, paid 1 percent brokerage, which reportedly was above 22 lakh, to the complainant. Later, the broker demanded 2 percent brokerage, which she alleges was never discussed prior to the deal.

On being contacted, Ranaut told DNA, “My finance team was taking care of the deal, the complainant was paid 1 percent brokerage close to Rs 22 lakh which as per Industry standards; now he is asking for 2 percent brokerage. At no point, two percent brokerage was decided on. The money transferred is through the bank and all documents are available.”

Kangana sister Rangoli, who is also her manager, said they had submitted a written statement to the police but a sub-inspector working on the case denied receiving any statement from the actor’s representatives.

The broker, Prakkash Rohira or Karma Realtors, maintained that he wanted to take the legal course of action as he is the smaller party here and “prone to more harm”. He said, “I’m aware there will be blatant denials and things will be made to appear as if I’m at fault, it is standard defence. I have no intention to take this to media as I’m the smaller one here and more prone to harm. I’m confident of my matter. It’s best to depend on evidence produced by all parties.”

We shall keep you updated with more on this soon.
