The trailer of the much-anticipated Merry Christmas, featuring Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi was finally released today, December 20. Directed by Sriram Raghavan, the movie is simultaneously shot in Hindi and Tamil. After calling Merry Christmas the most challenging movie of her career at the Red Sea International Film Festival, Katrina Kaif reveals how she was stressed about learning the Tamil language.

Katrina Kaif recalls being stressed about learning Tamil

While speaking to Mashable, the actress shared being extremely stressed and consumed about learning Tamil. She shared, “I was very very stressed and consumed with trying to learn my Tamil Lines. I wanted rehearse in a way, that they sound fresh and spontaneous [while shooting] . And that was for me a very very ( add another 50 very ) tough task.” She added, “I find Tamil and Malayalam really really difficult. It’s hard to distinguish between the consonants and vowels.”

About Merry Christmas

Sanjay Kapoor, Vinay Pathak, Pratima Kannan, and Tinnu Anand, will be seen in the Hindi version, while the Tamil version has Radhika Sarathkumar, Shanmugaraja, Kevin Jay Babu, and Rajesh Williams. After multiple delays, the movie is all set to release in theatres on 12th January 2024 alongside Deepika Padukone’s Kalki 2898 AD.

When the trailer was released 2 days back, Vicky Kaushal heaped praise and wrote, “One of the best cut Trailers! Can’t wait for this gem from the genius @sriram.raghavanofficial ! Tagging Katrina, he added kiss and red heart emojis. He also tagged Vijay, Sanjay Kapoor, Ramesh Taurani, and others.

On the work front, Katrina Kaif will next be seen in Farhan Akhtar’s road-trip drama Jee Le Zaraa. She will share screen space with Alia Bhatt and Priyanka Chopra.
