Karan Johar recently returned with Koffee With Karan 8 and the excitement for the season hit an all time high. The first episode featuring Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh showed that this season is going to be different. It has garnered huge appreciation for the humane and raw nature of the whole episode. Karan Johar is ‘scared to call’ cricketers on Koffee With Karan 8

Recently, Karan had an Instagram live session where he interacted with his fans. One of them asked him to invite cricketers on his show. In response to it, Karan expressed his desire to invite them but was skeptical of their answer.

He said, “Will they come? I don’t know. (laughs) I’m not sure. I would love to have them. They are national icons, and celebrated illustrious personalities. But I think with what happened last time I’m not sure they will even take my call. I’m scared to even call and I’m such a big fan and have so much respect in my heart. I don’t want to be rejected.”

For the unversed, Karan had invited cricketers Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul on Koffee With Karan 6. While the trio had a lot of fun on the episode, the reception to it was quite contradictory. Many people labelled some of Hardik’s statements during the show misogynistic. The cricketers were trolled for it a lot and eventually, the episode was taken off from the streaming platform.

As for this season, while Deepika and Ranveer have opened it, Karan teased that a sibling pair is up next. There have been guesses doing rounds of who the sibling pair could be. The names that have come up include Kajol-Rani Mukerji, Janhvi Kapoor-Khushi Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan-Ibrahim Ali Khan and Aryan Khan-Suhana Khan.
