She was adjudged Best Actress for her performance in Mimi at the 69th National Film Awards. The actress shared that honour with Alia Bhatt who won it for Gangubai Kathiawadi. And after achieving this big feat, Kriti had a sweet celebration, whose glimpses she shared on social media.

Kriti Sanon celebrates her first National Award

On Friday, Kriti took to Instagram to share pictures showing how she celebrated her first National Award win. Kriti Sanon had a fun and intimate gathering of family and friends including her parents and sister Nupur Sanon. Filmmaker Dinesh Vijan and Varun Sharma also came to celebrate her achievement.

The actress opted for a cute white shirt for the night and took some adorable selfies with her loved ones. The pride on her parents and sister’s face just speaks volume of their love and affection for Kriti. Even Dinesh has a huge smile on his face as it’s his production that brought the film to life, which earned the actress this honour. Along with the pictures, Kriti wrote, “Surrounded with love and loved ones… So much Gratitude in my heart.”

Kriti’s note on her win

After the announcement of the winners on Thursday, Kriti took to her Instagram to share a heartfelt note. She penned her thoughts on her win, expressing gratitude and thanking people who supported her in her journey. The actress also applauded and congratulated her fellow winner Alia.

Kriti’s note read, “ELATED – OVERWHELMED – GRATEFUL Still sinking it in.. pinching myself.. this has actually happened! The National Award for Best Actress for Mimi! Thank you to the jury who considered my performance worthy of the most prestigious award! It means the world to me!”

She added, “Dinoo, I can’t thank you enough for believing in me and my potential, for standing by me always and for giving me a film I’ll treasure all my life! Laxman sir.. You always told me “Mimi, dekhna aapko is film ke liye National Award milega” .. Mil gaya sir! And I couldn’t have done this without you. Mom, Dad, Nups.. You guys are my lifeline! Thank you for always being my constant cheerleaders.. Congratulations Aliaaaa! So so well deserved! I’ve always admired your work and I’m too excited that I get to share this huge moment with you! Yayyyiiee!! Biggg hug… Lets Celebrate!!”
