Madhuri Dixit is an institution, isn’t she? The evergreen diva still has a child-like enthusiasm about her and her beauty is still so organic and wonderful. The celebrated actress is currently awaiting her next venture ‘Total Dhamaal’, which features an ensemble cast.

Now, Madhuri Dixit and the late Sridevi were considered rivals in the 1980s and 1990s and there were reports of competition and acrimony. But, to the contrary, both the divas got along pretty well and had mutual respect for each other.

Madhuri Dixit has replaced Sridevi in Karan Johar’s production venture ‘Kalank’ post-Sridevi’s untimely death. Talking about the same, Madhuri in an interview with Times of India said, “What took time was to digest the whole thing that had happened. It was so shocking, I was like ‘you want me to do this role?’ because even they (filmmakers) were stuck. They had to go on.”

Madhuri further added “As a person, it was hard to deal. As an actor, you know the role, the script. It’s a different matter altogether. But to accept the truth was very difficult.”

Sridevi’s daughter Janhvi Kapoor took to her Instagram handle to thank Madhuri for taking up her mother’s role. She had written, “Abhishek Varman’s next film was very close to mom’s heart. Dad, Khushi and I are thankful to Madhuriji for now being a part of this beautiful film.
