Pooja took to her Instagram handle to share the sad news of her makeup artist’s death. Sharing pictures of Ifte with her she wrote about her journey with him. Pooja also shared some of his work on her and it looked absolutely stunning.

The caption was rather heart-warming, “I was all of 17 when I first met Ifte Khan.. to say he was one of the most talented make-up artists in the business would be as much of an understatement as it is to say he was ever so slightly temperamental as well. Honest to a fault. Hot-headed, passionate, childlike and bloody good at his job. One couldn’t work with him if the masks were not dropped in every which way. We got along like a house on fire because of exactly those reasons-For the fact that he could never be a yes man to deluded photographers nor stars. Was never easily impressed and had the capacity to call a spade a spade. The myriad seasons of fame and one’s star rising or falling never coloured his affection nor allegiance once he called you a friend. A rarity in this business where people only flock around you when it converts to money for them.”

She also wrote that Ifte and Pooja stayed in touch randomly over the years and reconnected when she was 47 and started out as an actor all over again. Ifte wasn’t too well but one message, and he came to see her and gave Pooja the greatest gift in the form of his son Farhan who picked up from where he left off decades later. Farhan also did Pooja’s makeup for a show that she says gave her more than most of her films could ever do.

She ended it by writing, “Alvida my friend Ifte.. and thank you for always revealing something new about me to me each time you applied even the slightest hint of concealer to my face. ?✨ #IfteKhan #makeupartist #parexcellence #theoneswhomakeus #whoweare(sic)”
