A light-hearted video by Boman Irani taking a satirical dig at Donald Trump and his supposed outreach to ‘Iranis’ has sparked an unexpected online debate, drawing both laughter and criticism. While many, including Jaaved Jaaferi, responded with humour, actor-model Mandana Karimi called out Boman for what she viewed as selective commentary on Iran, turning the comment section into a heated exchange.
Mandana Karimi Criticises Boman Irani’s Donald Trump’s Middle East War Satire
The controversy began after Boman shared a satirical Instagram video taking a dig at Donald Trump and the idea of peace talks with Iran. While many found humour in the clip, Mandana took to the comments section to express her disappointment, questioning the timing of his remarks.
Under Boman’s video, Mandana wrote, “Boman Irani sir … suddenly you have a lot to say about Iran. Interesting timing. For years, Iranians have been getting arrested, executed, silenced. Thousands killed. Families torn apart. And people like me we’ve lived it. We’ve spoken about it. But now … there’s a video. Now there’s concern. Now there’s humor about gas, about Trump, about ‘come to my house.'”
She further added, “Sir, with all respect you and the Parsi community come from Iran. You carry that history. That fire. So where was this voice when Iranians were dying? And now suddenly because it affects gas, politics, global talks there’s commentary? I mean … slow clap. Really. From silence to satire – that was fast. Anyway … just an observation.”
While Boman did not respond to her remarks, several users stepped in, defending the actor and pointing out that the video was intended as satire. Comments such as “darling it was just satire,” and “Crazy how people who haven’t lived in Iran for years suddenly become experts on ‘regime change’ conveniently aligning with US/Israel narratives too” surfaced under the post.
Mandana, however, doubled down on her stance, explaining the reason behind her strong reaction. “And when someone ignores mass deaths, executions, and oppression but shows up for gas prices? That’s hypocrisy. Simple. But sure… now we care, right? Javid Shah. Payandeh Iran. (Long live the King. Long live Iran).”
She also emphasised her personal connection to the issue, revealing her lived experiences in Iran. “I’ve lived through things you will never fully understand,” she wrote, adding that she was born there, lived under the current regime for 18 years, and has ‘been arrested’ and ‘violated’, while her family continues to reside in the country.

What Did Boman Irani Say?
Boman’s video, which sparked the debate, was a light-hearted take on the viral chatter around Donald Trump wanting to engage with Iranians for peace talks. In the clip, he joked, “So, as you may know, it’s going viral that Mr Donald Trump wants to speak to the Iranis. And three people have been beckoned. Talks are happening with Smriti ji, Aruna Irani ji, and me, Boman Irani. So, I am ready. I am ready to do anything for peace.”
The video also drew amused reactions from many in the industry, including Jaaved Jaaferi, who humorously commented, “My dear @boman_irani If you call yourself Bombon Irani and offer to share the formula of Custard gas, Trump may make the effort to come to Dadarland.”
Boman went on to add a humorous twist, saying he would host Trump at his home in Dadar Parsi Colony, offering him dhansak, custard, and other Parsi delicacies, while also joking about the ongoing LPG concerns and asking him to bring along a “big cylinder” if he visited from Washington.
