Manoj Bajpayee Ranveer Singh Ban

Manoj Bajpayee has reacted to the ongoing controversy surrounding Ranveer Singh and the ban imposed on him by the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) following his reported exit from Don 3. Speaking at the trailer launch of his upcoming film, Governor, Bajpayee said he hopes the matter gets resolved peacefully and without further escalation. Scroll on to know what the actor had to say and what the controversy is all about.

Manoj Bajpayee REACTS To Ranveer Singh’s FWICE Ban

Reacting to the issue, Manoj Bajpayee admitted that most people in the industry only know about the matter through social media reports. He said, “The place is very wrong. I must tell you one thing that all the people who are in this industry, they are only reading it on social media. And we don’t have detailed information about it. But all we can say as colleagues or as fellow fraternity members that we hope that the matter is sorted out soon.”

What This Is All About?

FWICE recently announced a ban on Ranveer Singh and asked its members not to cooperate with the actor until the dispute is resolved. The federation also backed the producers’ demand seeking compensation for alleged pre-production losses worth around Rs 45 crore. According to reports, Excel Entertainment, headed by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, filed a complaint against the actor in April.

FWICE claimed that Ranveer Singh had signed a three-film contract with the production house. But reportedly exited Don 3 nearly ten days before shooting was set to begin. The organisation stated that the sudden exit caused major financial losses due to extensive pre-production work already completed for the film. The federation also revealed that it attempted to mediate the matter. However, according to FWICE, Singh declined discussions through the body, saying the issue required an ‘appropriate’ forum. Despite this, the organisation said it remains open to further talks.

Ranveer Singh’s Statement On The Ban

Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh’s spokesperson issued an official statement saying that the actor had consciously chosen to remain silent on the matter. The statement added that professional discussions and personal equations should be handled with “dignity, maturity and mutual respect.”

Directed by Farhan Akhtar, Don 3 has remained under constant scrutiny ever since its announcement in 2023. The film has already faced multiple delays, casting changes and speculation around its production timeline. With FWICE’s latest action and the ongoing dispute now making headlines, uncertainty around the project continues to grow. Ranveer Singh is currently enjoying the success of Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar 2.
