After the film starring Emraan Hashmi, Prachi Desai and Nargis Fakhri was completed, Azharuddin wanted to see the film and he wanted to ensure it was not depicting him in poor light. One of the sequences which showed how he underwent tremendous stress and struggle was when he was accused of match fixing in 2000. Watching the sequence, the former cricketer broke down in tears, reports Mid Day. The report further states that he wanted that portion removed and the makers abided by his will.

Apart from his controversial cricket career, his marriage and separation with his first wife Naureen and his affair and marriage with actress Sangeeta Bijlani have also been shown in the film. ‘Azhar’ releases tomorrow, on May 13.
