mrunal thakur, mrunal

Mrunal Thakur is one of the most talented actresses in the industry and there’s absolutely no denying that. She started her career with TV shows and later went on to do films. The actress made her Bollywood debut with Vikas Bahl’s Super 30 co-starring Hrithik Roshan. Post that, she has been doing some good films and winning hearts. Last year, she made her Telugu film debut co-starring Dulquer Salmaan and Rashmika Mandanna in Hanu Raghavpudi’s Sita Ramam. The actress delivered an unforgettable performance in Sita Ramam. She has interesting South projects in the pipeline. Mrunal will be seen in Hi Nanna with Nani. That’s not all, she has also signed a film titled Family Star opposite Vijay Deverakonda.

Mrunal, who is gearing up for the release of Pippa, recently joined Bollywood Bubble for a candid conversation. The actress spoke about South giving her chance to explore herself as an actor and if she feels Bollywood is lacking there.

Mrunal talks about South exploring her talent

She said, “We have Pooja Meri Jaan and Pippa releasing this year. So, there is nothing like that in my mind. I’m exploring. I love speaking different languages. And I am a Maharashtrian and I speak Marathi, Hindi, little bit of broken Malayalam and now Telugu. I just want to explore.”

She added, “Aisa nahi hai ki yahan pe zyada kaam mil raha hai toh mein yaha pe kaam karu. Yaha pe kam pyaar mil raha hai toh yaha pe mein kam pyaar karu. It’s about the story. What made me choose Sita Ramam? The story was so beautiful and I think as an actor I don’t want language to be my barrier. And also when I began as an actor, there is a ladder that I’ve to climb. I can’t just instantly go and ask filmmaker to give me a very important part or the leading lady or someone who’s carrying the film on their shoulder. I know I have to prove and it’s good when you earn it. And that gives me the motivation to perform better. I started my career with literally four to five scenes and here I am today.”

She went on to add, “I value my journey and I’m blessed that all these filmmakers have showed immense faith in me to give such lovely roles and they are all strong roles. When they come to me, they pitch me the role, they’re like this is what we want. We want you to be that progressive girl in the 1970s, who’s riding the bike and who’s proving she’s got a point to prove and she’s contributing not to the family but to the nation and to what extent which you’ll figure out in the film.”
