Three times Nation Award-winning actor Nana Patekar passed away early this morning after suffering a cardiac arrest at his home in Goa. The 75-year-old actor was rushed to a private hospital after being found unconscious at his residence. Despite doctors attempting to revive his for nearly 45 minutes, Nana was declared dead at around 5:20 am.

Rakhi Sawant Cried As She Mourns Nana Patekar
A while ago, Rakhi Sawant was spotted by the city paparazzi. While interaction with them, the actress is seen talking about how big a loss his demise is for the Indian film industry. She is also seen struggling to hold back tears as she talks about the veteran actor. The video captures her saying, “Ek toh meri maa chali gayi, mere dad chale gaye, Sridevi chali gayi… Aap bhi chale gaye? (First, my mother passed away, then my dad, and Sridevi passed away too… And now you are gone as well?)
She continued, “Aap humein kyun chhodkar ja rahe ho? Kaise jeeyenge hum, Nana ji, aapke bagair? Hamari film industry kaise chalegi aapke bina? Boliye na. (Why did you leave us? How will we live without you, Nana ji? How will our film industry function without you?)”

Nana Patekar’s Career & Death
Nana Patekar passed early this morning in Goa. As per reports, the veteran actor was found unconscious at his residence in Dona Paula, Goa. He was then rushed to Manipal Hospital where doctors attempted to revive the actor for around 45 minutes but were unsuccessful. The actor was declared dead at around 5:20 am. Doctors citied cardiac arrest as the cause of death.
The National award-winning actor will be cremated with full state honours at his ancestral farmhouse in Donje, Pune, today evening. Before the final rites, his body will be kept at the farmhouse property for a brief period to allow family, close friends, film fraternity colleagues, and local villagers to pay their last respects.
Nana Patekar – who is know for playing both serious and comic roles, was last seen on the big screen in Vishal Bhardwaj’s 2026 romantic action thriller O’ Romeo. He also featured in Prakash Jha’s socio-political series Sankalp and made a cameo appearance in Subedaar. Some of Nana’s most prominent films include Parinda, Krantiveer, Agni Sakshi, Ab Tak Chhappan, Welcome, Apaharan, Taxi No 9211 and Raajneeti, among others.
He is the recipient of many aways, including three National Film Awards and two Maharashtra State Film Awards. He was conferred with the Padma Shri award in 2013 for his contribution in cinema and arts.
