Prasad’s name cropped up during the questioning of Sanket Patel, an alleged drug peddler. According to a report in Hindustan Times, in its application seeking custody of the producer, NCB stated, “He (Patel) further stated that he delivered Ganja around 12 times to Prasad from May 2020 to July 2020. Further, Prasad made a payment of Rs 3,500 each time after taking the delivery of 50 grams of Ganja.”

During the interrogation, Prasad has admitted to taking Ganja from arrested alleged drug peddlers Ankush Arneja and Karamjeet Singh. Explaining the link Prasad with Sushant’s case, the NCB application further reads, “From the above it is clear that Prasad purchased Hashish/Ganja from Arneja, further Arneja used to purchase drugs from accused Anuj Keshwani. Hence Prasad is part of the conspiracy for drug procurement with Arneja and his co-accused. Prasad was connected with Keshwani and Keshwani was linked with Kaizan Ibrahim, who was further linked with accused Dipesh Sawant and Sawant was linked with Showik, Rhea, Rajput. Patel supplied Ganja/Weed to Arneja and the said contraband was purchased by him from accused Singh. On the instruction of accused Singh, Patel purchased Charas/Weed and further delivered it to Prasad. Samuel Miranda (Former house manager of Rajput) and Prasad have taken delivery of Ganja from Singh and his associate.”

Meanwhile, Dharma Productions’ owner Karan Johar has denied knowing Prasad. Though he did confirm that Prasad worked for his production house for a brief period in 2019. “Mr Kshitij Ravi Prasad joined Dharmatic Entertainment (sister concern of Dharma Productions) in November 2019 as one of the executive producers on contract basis for a project which eventually did not materialise. However, in the past few days, the media has resorted to distasteful, distorted and false allegations. I hope the members of the media would exercise restraint else I will be left with no option but to legally protect my rights against this baseless attack on me,” reads KJo’s statement.
