NCB arrests Dharma Productions’ former executive producer Kshitij Ravi Prasad

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has arrested Kshitij Ravi Prasad, the former executive producer at Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. The agency arrested Kshitij after interrogating him for around 24 hours. Reportedly, Kshitij used to procure narcotics substances and that led to his arrest.

According to the report by ANI, NCB arrested Kshitij Ravi Prasad in connection with the drug probe linked to Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case. As a part of formalities, Kshitij was taken for medical examination by the NCB officials prior to his arrest.

A tweet by ANI reads, “Statements of Karishma Prakash, Sara Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone & Shraddha Kapoor (have been recorded). Kshitij Prasad has been placed under arrested after questioning. No fresh summon has been issued today. We have arrested more than 18 people: Mutha Ashok Jain, Deputy DG, South-Western Region, NCB.”

Last night, Karan Johar had issued a statement clarifying neither Kshitij Prasad and Anubhav Chopra are his close aides. “I would like to further state that several media/news channels have been airing news reports that Kshitij Prasad and Anubhav Chopra are my ‘aides’/’close aides’. I would like to place on record that I don’t know these individuals personally and neither of these two individuals is ‘aides’ or ‘close aides’.”

Karan also said that Kshitij had worked briefly with Dharma Productions back in 2019. “Mr Kshitij Ravi Prasad joined Dharmatic Entertainment (sister concern of Dharma Productions) in November 2019 as one of the executive producers on contract basis for a project which eventually did not materialise. However, in the past few days, the media has resorted to distasteful, distorted and false allegations. I hope the members of the media would exercise restraint else I will be left with no option but to legally protect my rights against this baseless attack on me,” the ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ director said in his statement.

Reportedly, during raid NCB officials had found marijuana and weed at Kshitij’s place. Apparently, he used to buy huge amounts of drugs regularly. For more updates on this story stay tuned.
