The Preity Zinta – Ness Wadia showdown took place due to ego clash between the two ex-lovers. The showdown between them was over front row seats at the Garware Pavilion in Wankhede stadium, with Wadia insisting that his family including mother Maureen Wadia be seated in the front row occupied by Zinta and cricketer David Miller’s family.

As per sources, it all started when Ness arrived with his family at the stadium, the match had begun and the front row seats were occupied by Preity Zinta and David Millers family. Ness asked Kings XI Chief Operating Officer (COO) Fraser Castellino to vacate the seats for his family. Castellino then requested Zinta, but she reportedly refused.

Sources further added that, Ness was livid and the bickering continued. Wadia and Zinta lost their cool and exchanged insults while leaving the stadium. A tearful Zinta apparently spoke to IPL chairman Ranjib Biswal about Wadia’s behaviour soon afterwards, but there was no official complaint registered with the BCCI.

Based on Zinta’s complaint, the police have filed a case under sections 509 and 354 (outraging a woman’s modesty), 504 (breach of peace), 506 (criminal intimidation) and are analyzing CCTV footage from four cameras provided by the Mumbai Cricket Association.
