Stories that are based in rural India are not only amazing but sometimes even unheard of. Pankaj Tripathi’s upcoming film ‘Kaagaz’ based on a man who is officially declared dead. The film chronicles the journey of this ‘dead man’ and how he struggles to prove his existence.

The makers of this biographical drama have unveiled its trailer today which is part funny and part sad.

In the trailer, we see how a common man Bharat Lal- played by the one and only Pankaj Tripathi- is declared dead on government papers. The poor man’s struggle to reclaim his identity begins and his life is changed overnight.

Pankaj is seen running pillars to post to get the government’s record changed but no one helps him. From requesting help from Panchayat to hiring a lawyer, he does everything in his power to prove his existence. The film chronicles the journey of this helpless common man and his fight against the system.

The film depicts the real-life story of Lal Bihari, a farmer who is declared dead on Government records.

Directed by Satish Kaushik, ‘Kaagaz’ is produced by Salma Khan, Nishant Kaushik and Vikas Malu. The film is scheduled to release on January 7.
