Bollywood superstar Salman Khan and veteran actor-director Satish Kaushik have reunited as co-stars for a film after 16 years. Salman and Satish, who earlier collaborated for Tere Naam will next be seen in Ali Abbas Zafar’s ‘Bharat‘. The duo is up for another collaboration.

The 53-year-old actor has come on-board as producer and distributor for Satish’s upcoming directorial, ‘Kaagaz’. The film ‘Kaagaz’ is reportedly set in Uttar Pradesh and revolves around a real-life story of a farmer, Lal Bihari, who was declared dead on paper by his relatives. He struggled for over 18 years to re-establish his identity and fight a legal battle to prove that he is still alive and acquire his land and property.

According to a report published in Mumbai Mirror, the veteran actor-director narrated the story to Salman on the sets of Bharat and the latter instantly gave a nod to the film and came on board as a producer. The report also notes that Pankaj Tripathi will star in and as Lal Bihari. Apart from Tripathi, the movie also features Nishant Kaushik and Monal Gajjar.

Mumbai Mirror quoted a source as saying, “Satish Kaushik recently shot for a cameo in Bharat and that’s when he narrated the basic premise of his next to Salman. At the end of the narration, Salman was blown away by the concept and decided to produce as well as distribute the film under his banner.”

In the meantime, Salman’s ‘Bharat’, co-starring Katrina Kaif and Sunil Grover in key roles, is slated to release in June this year. From India to Malta – the film has been shot across different locations.

It is to be noted that neither Salman Khan, nor Satish Kaushik has so far confirmed the collaboration.
