Akshay Kumar and Manushi Chillar’s film, Prithviraj is one of the most-anticipated films of the year and today, the movie has finally got a release date. The historical action drama movie is all set to hit the cinemas on June 10, 2022. On Thursday, the makers also released the character posters of Akshay, Manushi, Sonu Sood, Sanjay Dutt.

Sharing the grand posters, Akshay wrote: “महान सम्राट की पुण्य स्मृति, रुपहले पर्दे पर 10 जून से! The grand Samrat #Prithviraj Chauhan’s historic journey is coming to the big screen on 10th June in Hindi, Tamil & Telugu.”

In the movie, Akshay essays the role of the legendary king Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan, while, Manushi Chhillar will be seen playing Princess Sanyogita. This movie also marks her Hindi film debut. Whereas, Sanjay Dutt will play the role of Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan’s trusted saamant, Kaka Kanha and Sonu Sood will be seen as Chand Vardai.

Produced by Yash Raj Films, the movie is being directed by Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi who directed the biggest television epic Chanakya. The film also stars Ashutosh Rana, Sakshi Tanwar, Manav Vij and Lalit Tiwari in other important characters.

Talking about the movie, Akshay in a statement said: “The teaser of Prithviraj captures the soul of the film, the essence of the life of the legendary warrior Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan who knew no fear. This is our tribute to his heroism and his life. The more I read about him, the more I was awed by how he lived and breathed every single second of his glorious life for his country and his values.”

Meanwhile, the Prithviraj movie is based on life of Prithviraj Chauhan a king from the Chahamana dynasty. Earlier, it was scheduled to release in theatres on 21 January 2022, however, due to the surge in COVID-19 cases and the theatres shutting down. The film will now finally release in June.
