Ranbir Kapoor nepotism

Is nepotism in Bollywood just a delusional idea brought by the less privileged ones, or does it really exist? The debate started with Kangana Ranaut accusing Karan Johar of the same, on his chat show ‘Koffee With Karan’. Since then, Bollywood has been divided on opinions. Of late, Ranbir Kapoor acknowledged the presence of nepotism in film industry, but had a rather rational take on it.

Born to actors Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor, he did have some privileges, right?

“It exists everywhere but more so in the film industry. But how I see it, I can only speak of my family. I believe my great grandfather worked really hard to give his children an opportunity in their professional life. I would like to work hard for my children so that they get the right opportunity, platform, the right first film. After that, it’s about your talent. So, yes, honestly, it does exist,” the actor answered. (Also Read: Just like us, even Ranbir Kapoor is waiting to watch Kareena Kapoor’s son Taimur in films)

Makes quite sense!

The actor himself first stepped in Bollywood with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Saawariya’ which sank at the box office. However, with his own abilities, Ranbir established himself as a bankable actor in the industry. Thus, you know he is right when he talks about the ‘first film’!
