Randeep Hooda Backed Out Shahid Kapoor Starrer O Romeo Days Ahead Of Shoot? Here’s What We Know

Randeep Hooda, who was cast to play the antagonist in O Romeo, withdrew from Shahid Kapoor’s film at the last minute due to personal reasons. Vishal Bhardwaj and Sajid Nadiadwala supported his decision. The teaser of ‘O’Romeo’ offered a glimpse into the action thriller’s universe, featuring Shahid Kapoor, Triptii Dimri, Tamannaah Bhatia, Avinash Tiwary, Disha Patani, and Nana Patekar. However, Randeep Hooda was noticeably absent from the preview.

Randeep Hooda Backed Out Of Shahid Kapoor’s O Romeo?

Further investigation revealed that he was originally slated to portray the antagonist in the film releasing on February 13 but pulled out just days before his scheduled shoot.

Sources say Hooda left the project due to personal issues. A production insider told Mid-day, “Randeep had begun preliminary preparations for his role. Unfortunately, a personal crisis arose just before he was set to shoot his portions. This happened around the time of his film Jaat’s release last April, as he was dealing with significant developments in his personal life and his wife Lin’s health. Naturally, he prioritized his family during this difficult period.”

It is understood that Bhardwaj and producer Sajid Nadiadwala supported Hooda’s decision, and their parting was amicable.

With ‘O’Romeo’ on a tight schedule, the filmmakers quickly moved to cast a replacement. They selected Avinash Tiwary, marking his first collaboration with Bhardwaj. A source added, “The production couldn’t afford any major delays. Avinash fit the role perfectly and was available to step in on short notice.”
