Rani Mukerji awards

Rani Mukerji is currently in Mauritius to attend the Mauritius Cinema Week. The actress was recently honoured with the Outstanding Contribution to Cinema Award at the festival.

Talking about the award she received, the actress said, “I am humbled, thankful and proud that Mauritius has given me such honour and love with this Outstanding Contribution to Cinema Award. This festival brings some really good cinema and also provides a rare chance for French and Indian cinema to be celebrated together. Many of my films like ‘Bichhoo’, ‘Hello Brother’ and ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hain’ have been shot here.  I love the pristine natural scenery and vibrant culture of Mauritius. I am thankful that those of Indian origin have given me such affection. We share a common history of colonialism and struggle for independence. In the years to come, I hope we also find common ground in our arts and cinema.” (Also Read: The cost of Rani Mukerji’s bag+shoes will give you sleepless nights!)
