Rishi Kapoor certainly knows how to stir up a hornets’ nest. Ever since the nationwide lockdown of 21 days has been declared, the veteran actor is making a point of sharing his feelings and opinion on the current scenario. After asking the government to declare Emergency owing to the panic situation created by the lockdown, the ‘Mulk’ actor now thinks that all licensed liquor shops should be allowed to remain open for some time in the evening. No prizes for guessing,  he was once again slammed by the netizens.

Taking to his Twitter handle Rishi wrote how the liquor will not only help in providing relief to Cops, doctors and civilians but also help the state government to earn money from excise.

“Think. Government should for sometime in the evening open all licensed liquor stores. Don’t get me wrong. Man will be at home only what with all this depression, uncertainty around. Cops, doctors, civilians etc… need some release. Black mein to sell ho hi raha hai. ( cont. 2),” he wrote in his Tweet.

The ‘Chandni’ actor further added, “State governments desperately need the money from the excise. Frustration should not add up with depression. As it is pee to rahe hain legalize kar do no hypocrisy. My thoughts(sic)”

Due to lockdown, daily wage earners have been badly hit. Immigrant labourers are unable to return to their hometown. The netizens pointed out this fact and slammed the veteran actor for his views. One of the users slammed Rishi by commenting, “People are dying of hunger aur is bewde ko apni daaru ki padi hai….have donated anything for the poor?(sic)” Whereas another user hit back saying, “Inke bewdi atma ko bhagwan Shanti de, log bhukh se mar rahe hai aur inko daru ki PADI hai(sic)”

Interestingly, it was only a few days back when the actor had abused some trolls who had asked him if he had stocked up alcohol following the lockdown announcement.

PM Narendra Modi had announced a lockdown of 21 days on March 24, in wake of the widespread Covid-19 outbreak.
