Gujarati theatre veteran Arvind Joshi breathed his last on January 29. The veteran actor is the father of Manasi Joshi and Sharman Joshi. Actor Rohit Roy, who is married to Manasi, took to his social media handle to pay tribute to his late father-in-law. Rohit recalled how his father-in-law was not only a legend in Gujarati theatre but also a great man.

Taking to his Instagram handle, Rohit Roy shared a picture of his late father-in-law. Alongside the picture, the Kaabil actor wrote, “Another legend passes.. I lost my father in law and Gujarati theatre lost its last legend… he strode the floorboards of practically every major theatre in India with charm, finesse and the confidence only seen in royalty.. small wonder then that he was regarded as a Monarch of Gujarati theatre.

“But more than anything, the world lost a nice guy… Rest in peace Arvind Bhai ??I’m sure you’ll bump into my Dad up there and when u do, give him a huge hug for me and have a drink! Cheers!,” he added further.

Several celebs commented on Rohit’s post and offered condolences. Sanjay Kapoor wrote, “May his soul rest in peace.” Karan Patel commenting on Rohit’s post wrote, “My deepest condolences to you and the family…May his soul rest in peace. Suniel Shetty and Gautam Rode also paid their tribute to the veteran actor.

Apart from his contribution to the Gujarati theatre, Arvind Joshi also had several Hindi films to his credit. He featured in films like Sholay, Apmaan Ki Aag, Pyaar Ka Toofan, Ittefaq, Kharidar to name a few.

Paresh Rawal was the one who had shared the news of Arvind’s demise on social media. “Irreparable loss to Indian theatre; with grief we say goodbye to the noted actor Shri Arvind Joshi. A stalwart, a versatile actor, an accomplished thespian, are the words that come to mind when I think of his performances. My condolences to @TheShermanJoshi & family. AUM SHANTI (sic),” the Hera Pheri actor had tweeted.
