Sadia Khateeb Calls Casting Neetu Kapoor, Riddhima Kapoor In Daadi Ki Shaadi A ‘Masterstroke’; States, “I Can’t Imagine Anyone Else Playing Them”

The cast of Daadi Ki Shaadi has been winning hearts with the infectious hook step from their song Senti. Recently, they delivered a splendid performance that left everyone feeling all senti. Sadia Khateeb On Neetu Kapoor, Riddhima Kapoor’s Casting In Daadi Ki Shaadi

Speaking about this unique casting combination, Sadia Khateeb shared, “When I said yes to the film, it was only Kapil sir back then they were in the process of finalising Daadi and Sunny Booey and the rest of the cast. So, I remember, one fine day when Ashish sir told me that they were looking at a couple of options. Very interesting names they were throwing but then they told me Neetu ma’am is doing it, I was more than thrilled because she fits the part so perfectly, she looks the part so perfectly, and she is such a fun person anyway to play this fun, and intense character.”

She further added, “It was the joy when I think my brother, who was also assisting on the film came to me one fine day and told me that they’ve locked, Riddhima and I was like, wow, that’s a masterstroke to have Daadi and her real daughter playing a mother-daughter duo, it’s a masterstroke for casting, it was amazing because Kapil sir was already bringing all the charm and all the sense of humour and all the light-heartedness and weightage to film and when Daadi and daughter come in the picture, it just becomes something else, I was really thrilled.”

Talking about finally meeting the cast on sets, Sadia added, “This is before I met them and I was really looking forward to meeting them, and then when I met them, o my God, they had me at ‘hello’, I fell in love with them instantly for the kind of people they were and I think they are the best, perfect cast for this film. I can’t imagine anyone else playing Daadi better than Neetu Ma’am or playing Sunny Booey better than Riddhima and you have to come to theatres to see what I’m talking about. This is a top-notch cast.”
