After the release of Sikandar, Salman Khan is now preparing for his next big project, Battle of Galwan. The film, directed by Apoorva Lakhia, is based on the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese soldiers. Known for action-packed roles, Salman is undergoing intense physical training to get into character for this war drama.
Salman Khan To Begin Battle of Galwan Filming In August
According to reports, the film is set to begin shooting in the first week of August. A source told Mid-Day that a detailed set is being constructed at Mehboob Studio in Mumbai, which will be ready by the end of July. The initial 10 to 12 days of shooting will take place there, focusing on the character-building parts of the story. After that, the crew will head to Ladakh for the action sequences.
“The Mumbai schedule is important to show the emotional and personal side of the characters before the action begins. The set has been designed to reflect real-life military surroundings,” a source shared, adding that Salman will be on set from day one.
The Ladakh schedule is expected to be intense, involving night shoots, battle scenes, and combat training. An insider revealed that Salman has been preparing for the role since May.
In an earlier interview, Salman spoke about how demanding the prep has been. “It’s physically intense. With every passing day, it gets tougher. I used to get into shape in a week or two, but this time I’m running, kicking, punching, doing it all,” he said.
Battle of Galwan is expected to release in May 2026, though there has been no official announcement yet. Fans are already excited to see Salman in this high-stakes patriotic drama.
Battle of Galwan is shaping up to be one of the most awaited films of the year, not only for its powerful subject but also for its fresh casting choices. With Salman Khan leading the charge and Chitrangda Singh joining the ensemble, expectations are sky-high. Filming is expected to begin later this year.
