Salman Khan

Superstar Salman Khan’s ‘Jai Ho’ has managed to gross around Rs. 5.80 crore at the box office on Wednesday. With this, the total collection of the movie in the domestic market touched Rs. 83.28 crore. Since there is no other big release slated for the next week, it is estimated that the movie will at least make Rs.100 crore. It is noteworthy here that the last five Salman Khan films from  Dabangg, Ready, Bodyguard, Ek Tha Tiger to Dabangg 2 have all been in the Rs.100-crore club.

As per sources, The Dabangg Khan’s latest, ‘Jai Ho’, failed to make a grand opening at the box office with total collections of Rs.17.50 crore on Friday. The collections even dropped further to Rs.16.25 crore. Just as it was being dubbed as a flop, it bounced back into business at the box office on Sunday. On January 26, it grossed around Rs.26.25 crore. On Monday it earned Rs.9.50 crore, on Tuesday Rs.7.30 crore and on Wednesday Rs.5.80 crore. Well if you consider world market it has already crossed the 100 crore mark.

Jai Ho is made on a budget of Rs. 75 crore and was released in around 4,500 screens in India. Directed by Salman’s brother Sohail, the film stars debutante Daisy Shah as well as veterans Tabu and Danny Denzongpa.

But on the whole it has not matched the records set by Sallu’s past movies. Do you think Salman Khan’s magic is fading at Box Office, or was it that the tickets were not as high priced as the other recent movies released?
