Singer Sonu Nigam held a music concert in Chembur, Mumbai on Monday night. However, the event saw a mishap that compelled the singer to file a complaint at the police station. According to the report in ANI, Sonu was attacked and manhandled by a local MLA’s son who forcefully wanted a selfie with the singer at a music event.

As per the report, the local MLA’s son tried to take a selfie; however, the singer’s team failed to recognise him and pushed him aside which then led to a scuffle. The accused, Swapnil Prakash Phaterpekar, the son of Chembur MLA Prakash Phaterpekar, a leader of Uddhav Thackeray’s party allegedly tried to ‘hold’ Sonu while he was coming down from the stage. Nigam also claimed Phaterpekar ‘pushed’ his associates when they tried to come to his rescue.

After the concert, I was coming down from the stage when a man, Swapnil Prakash Phaterpekar, held me. He then pushed Hari and Rabbani who came to save me. Then, I fell on the steps. I filed a complaint so that people would think about forcefully taking selfies and causing scuffle,” the singer was quoted as saying by ANI.
