Actor Sooraj Pancholi was acquited by the CBI court in the JIah Khan death case. The star kid was charged with abetting the suicide of his girlfriend actor Jiah Khan in 2013. The special CBI court held him not guilty of the charges, citing a “paucity of evidence” against him.
Sooraj Pancholi visits Siddhivinayak Temple…
A day after his aquittal Sooraj Pancholi paid a visit to Siddhivinayak temple in Mumbai. He visited the temple to seek blessings. He was seen dressed in a black T-shirt with a white jacket and jeans. Post visiting the temple he posed for the paps and fans too.
Jiah Khansuicide case…
Actress Jiah Khan was found dead in her Mumbai home on June 3, 2013. Sooraj was the main accused in her death case and was arrested by the Mumbai Police on June 10, 2013. The arrest took place after a letter written by Jiah was found in which she allegedly shared that Sooraj mentally and physically abused her. The actor was granted bail in July.
In an interview with ETimes post his acquittal, Sooraj said, “For sure, this is the beginning of my life. I am confident that only good things will come to me now. I am happy that my family is finally at peace.There was not only lack of evidence against me, there was zero evidence. Even the letter (the alleged suicide note) for which I was arrested (ten years ago) wasn’t written by Jiah.”

Sooraj Pancholi is the son of actors Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab. He marked his Bollywood debut in 2015 with Hero alongside Suniel Shetty’s daughter Athiya Shetty. The film was backed by Salman Khan and Subhash Ghai. Besides Hero, he also featured in movies such as Satellite Shankar and Time to Dance.
