Lately, Taapsee Pannu and Kangana Ranaut have grabbed the headlines. Though Kangana’s sister has attacked the ‘Badla’ actress many times, Taapsee considers Kangana her inspiration. In an interview with a leading magazine, when Taapsee was asked which Bollywood icons inspire her, she said, “Priyanka Chopra, I think what she has done for herself is brilliant. Kangana because she voices what she wants to, without bothering. Anushka, I think she is someone very honest.”

Taking to her Twitter handle Taapsee shared a small video clip where she is seen answering a couple of questions. “Feminism and me”, she captioned the video. When questioned about feminism, Taapsee said, “Feminism, for me, means getting equal opportunity. So, if I have to be a good feminist, I would want to contribute to the society in such a way that all get an equal opportunity to show our talent and get what we deserve.”

Earlier when a portal compared Taapsee with Kangana and called her ‘the real Queen of Bollywood’, she replied, “Arre arre! Aise mat boliye. Queen unhi ko rehne dijiye nahi toh phir copy kehlaugi, main ek actor hi sahi hoon bas aise hi mera saath dete rahiye. dhanyawad”.

Taapsee was also disappointed by Kangana’s sister Rangoli calling her ‘sasti copy’. She told Mid-Day,  “It was a shock because it came from someone I always admired. I felt disappointed. When someone you had put on a pedestal does this, it makes you question if you were right in looking up to her. In my response, I said I am happy being a copy because she is a damn good actress. I am sasta because she claims to be the highest paid [female actor]. I don’t see it as derogatory. Just because she is saying it, doesn’t mean it’s the ultimate truth. She didn’t expose me; she exposed herself. It’s awkward but I won’t hold it against her. I love her as a performer and will continue to do so.”
