The Income Tax Department recently conducted raids at Taapsee Pannu’s properties. Reportedly, the raid was in connection to alleged tax evasion and in connection with Anurag Kashyap’s Phantom Films. Production and distribution company, Phantom Films, was established by Anurag, Vikramaditya Motwane, Madhu Mantena and Vikas Bahl. It was dissolved in 2018.

Taapsee has finally broken her silence on the IT raids. The Manmarziyaan actress took to her Twitter handle and shared some tweets which were dripping with sarcasm. The actress even joked about not being  ‘sasti’ (cheap) anymore.

Making a sarcastic statement about the recent raids, Taapsee shared a series of tweet. “3 days of intense search of 3 things primarily 1. The keys of the “alleged” bungalow that I apparently own in Paris. Because summer holidays are around the corner(sic),” she tweeted.

She further added, “2. The “alleged” receipt worth 5 crores to frame n keep for future pitching coz I’ve been refused that money before”

And lastly, she wrote, 3. My memory of 2013 raid that happened with me according to our honourable finance minister. P.S- “not so sasti” anymore(sic).”

Indirectly, Taapsee clarified that she doesn’t own any house in Paris, nor does she have any receipt of 5 crores payment made to her. She also refuted claims of any raid taking place at her property back in 2013.

While Taapsee has taken a jibe at the recent raids, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap is yet to react. Meanwhile, Taapsee’s boyfriend Mathias Boe recently sought help from Kiren Rijiju following the raid that stressed her parents. However, the politician asked Mathias to stick to his duties.
