On Wednesday (March 3) the Income Tax Department raided the properties of filmmaker Anurag Kashyap and actress Taapsee Pannu in Mumbai. Reportedly investigation is underway for alleged tax evasion and in connection with the production and distribution company Phantom Films which was dissolved in 2018.

Following the raid, several celebs came out in support of Taapsee and Anurag. Now the actress’ boyfriend and former badminton player, Mathias Boe has revealed that her parents are under stress following the raid. Mathias also sought politician Kiren Rijiju’s help. Rijiju is the current Minister of State of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and Minister of State in the Ministry of Minority Affairs of India.

Taking to his Twitter handle, Mathias expressing his concern for Taapsee’s family wrote, Finding myself in a bit of turmoil. Representing for the first time as a coach for some great athletes, meanwhile, I-T department is raiding Taapsee’s houses back home, putting unnecessary stress on her family, especially her parents @KirenRijiju please do something(sic).”

Now responding to Mathias tweet, Kiren tweeted, “Law of the land is supreme and we must abide by that. The subject matter is beyond yours and my domain. We must stick to our professional duties in the best interest of Indian Sports (sic).”

Apart from Taapsee and Anurag, the IT department also raided properties of Vikas Bahl and a few talent agencies.
