Taapsee Pannu thanks Kangana Ranaut while accepting an award for Thappad; Thalaivi actress responds with a subtle dig

Kangana Ranaut and Taapsee Pannu’s war of words is known to all. They are often seen taking digs at each other. Now, it seems things are better between them. As, recently, at a prestigious award ceremony, Taapsee was seen praising Kangana after winning the Best Actress award for Thappad. A video clip has been shared by a Twitter user where Taapsee thanked all the other nominated actresses. Mentioning Kangana’s name, she thanked her ‘for pushing the boundaries with her performance’. The user who shared the video also tagged Kangana.

Kangana replied, “Thank you @taapsee well deserved Vimal elaichi filmfare award…. no one deserves it more than you.” From her comment, it seemed that the comment was a subtle dig at Taapsee.

The nominees in the Best Actress category were Kangana Ranaut (Panga), Deepika Padukone (Chhapaak), Jahnvi Kapoor (Gunjan Saxena) and Vidya Balan (Shakuntala Devi) including Taapsee Pannu for Thappad.

Recently, Kangana won the National Award for Best Actress for Panga and Manikarnika.

On the professional front, Kangana’s next release is the multi-lingual political drama Thalaivi that is a biopic on former Tamil Nadu chief minister Jayalalithaa. Directed by AL Vijay, the release date is postponed due to the current situation of Covid-19. It was slated to release on April 23.

Talking about Taapsee, she will be seen in Shabaash Mithu, a biographical drama based on the life of Indian cricketer Mithali Raj. She also has Haseen Dillruba, Rashmi Rocket, Looop Lapeta, and Dobaaraa in her kitty.
