‘Takht’: Karan Johar’s desi ‘Game Of Thrones’ to go on floors from THIS month

Karan Johar’s upcoming multi-starrer period drama-‘Takht’ has been creating much anticipation among the audience. Few months, the makers have officially announced about the making of the film, and later the plot of the film was out pique the interest of the audience. Now, to add much to the excitements of the cinema lovers, here’s when KJo’s film will hit the floors.

After the debacle of his last production venture, ‘Kalank’, Karan Johar is gearing up to kick-start the shoot of his upcoming directorial, ‘Takht’. The film is set in the backdrop of the Mughal Era and features an ensemble cast of Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar and Janhvi Kapoor in pivotal roles. A few months back, the filmmaker took to his Instagram handle and shared the glimpse of prepping for the film.

Now, as per a report in Mumbai Mirror, Karan Johar’s directorial is set to hit the floors in the month of February next year and will be a start to finish its schedule. Talking about the same, a source close to the development has informed the tabloid, “The film kicks off in February with a start-to-finish schedule. Being a period film, the technical team is presently focused on the sets and locations and the script, while also deciding on the diction and mannerism of the characters. Work on the visual effects will take place simultaneously with the shoot so the film is ready on time.”

While much has not been unveiled officially about the film, the story of the film is said to be based on two Mughal brothers played by Ranveer Singh and Vicky Kaushal in the film. And Kareena is said to have been portraying their on-screen sister. The film is said to hit theatres in December 2020.
