Twitterati upset over Abhishek Bachchan reprising the role of Bob Biswas and not Saswata Chatterjee

Yesterday Abhishek Bachchan announced that he will be playing the popular character of Bob Biswas from Vidya Balan starrer ‘Kahaani’. Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment along with Sujoy Ghosh’s Bound Script Production will be producing the spin-off which is titled ‘Bob Biswas’.

But, looks like Twitterati is upset over the fact that Saswata Chatterjee, who originally played the character of Bob, will not be in the spin-off. The netizens are not happy with Abhishek playing the lead.

Yesterday, Abhishek took to his Instagram to make the official announcement about ‘Bob Biswas’. The actor wrote, “Very excited to announce my next film. #BobBiswas Directed by: Diya Annapurna Ghosh Produced by: @iamsrk @redchilliesent #SujoyGhosh #nomoshkar“.

But netizens are clearly not happy with this development. One of the users commented, “There’s only one #BobBiswas, Saswata Chatterjee. Period.”

Another user wrote, “I honestly feel bad for #SaswataChatterjee upon hearing the news of #BobBiswas getting its own spin-off! A character, with such limited screen time, had such a lasting impact with audiences as the antagonist. I guess it’s the sad reality of pitching a scalable film!”

“Nomoskar…ek minute …what ??? #BobBiswas We want original…. #SaswataChatterjee,” wrote a fan of the ‘Kahaani’ actor.

Why not #SaswataChatterjee as #BobBiswas ? Yes I agree @juniorbachchan is a good actor and he might portay the character very well but It was completely #Saswata Sir’s character..only because he’s not a well known face in bollywood you replace.. That’s upsetting.
