2019 has well and truly begun and Bollywood has got a lot of great content this year. Last year proved one thing that no matter how big a star you are, if your script is weak, then chances of your film succeeding are less. The director of the film, Aditya Dhar has revealed that the film ‘Uri’ has large scale action sequences. And they have been executed despite a very low budget. ‘Uri – The Surgical Strike’ is a special film for director Aditya Dhar not because it is his first film as a director, but also because he and his expert team have pulled off all the heavy action scenes in the film with a very low budget.

Aditya Dhar himself is a Kashmiri Pandit. Directly or indirectly, he has been affected by the terror attacks over the years. To give justice to all the action sequences in the film was very important for him. To make all the action scenes look very real, Aditya and his team shot those action sequence in a remote location in Serbia.

The debutant director was speaking about difficulties during the shoot, and said, “We shot in the forests, in the rain, muck and low temperatures too. Climatic conditions were very difficult to shoot in. The team would choreograph the scene and rehearse in detail.”

Aditya also adds, “The film’s scale was huge as it contains high-level action scenes but we had to achieve that on a small budget. That’s because first-time directors don’t get big budgets. We had to deliver our vision in the budget we had. So, we worked hard and created ingenious ways to shoot without compromising the quality of the film, and yet, we pulled off the best realistic action sequences.”

‘Uri’ features Vicky Kaushal in lead. It has an ensemble cast including Mohit Raina, Paresh Rawal, Yami Gautam and Kirti Kulhari.

Produced by RSVP movies and directed by Aditya Dhar, the film is slated to release on 11th January, 2019.
