urvashi rautela, temple, official statement released,

Urvashi Rautela has addressed the backlash stemming from her remark about a temple supposedly associated with her in Uttarakhand. The actor faced criticism both on social media and from religious leaders after claiming that there was a “temple in her name” during a recent interview. Following her statement, she was not only trolled by some who deemed her “delusional” but also criticised for allegedly “mocking” faith.

Urvashi Rautela’s Team Issues Clarification Statement On Temple Remarks

On Saturday, Rautela’s team issued an official statement on her behalf to clarify her comments. “Urvashi Rautela said that there is a temple in my name in Uttarakhand, not Urvashi Rautela’s temple. Now people don’t even listen to things properly; just hearing ‘Urvashi’ or ‘temple,’ they assumed that people worship Urvashi Rautela. Listen to this video properly and then speak,” the statement read.

Furthermore, the actor emphasised that both people and the media have a responsibility to verify facts before making claims. “It is essential that before making baseless allegations or derogatory comments against any individual, the facts are thoroughly verified. Everyone in society should treat each other with respect and understanding so that everyone’s rights can be protected,” the statement concluded.

What Happened In the Interview?

Earlier in the week, during a conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Urvashi stated, “There is a temple in my name in Uttarakhand. If one visits Badrinath, there is a ‘Urvashi temple’ right next to it.” When asked if people visit the temple to seek blessings, Urvashi laughed and replied, “Ab mandir hai toh woh hi toh karenge (It’s a temple, they will do that).”

However, her bold assertion did not sit well with priests and locals, who regard the temple as sacred, leading to calls for the government to take action against her for allegedly hurting religious sentiments.

About The Urvashi Temple

The Urvashi Temple is connected to a figure in Hindu mythology, Goddess Sati, who is revered as one of the 108 Shaktipeeths. According to legend, the temple arose at the site where Goddess Sati’s body is said to have fallen.
