Varun Dhawan has joined hands with Mission Oxygen India to help procure and donate oxygen concentrators to hospitals as the country goes has been adversely affected due to the second wave of COVID-19. After extending his support last year through various initiatives, the actor now contributes to help fund the requirement of oxygen and make oxygen concentrators available to hospitals across the country. The Badlapur actor also revealed that the first shipment has already reached India and has been deployed at 14 hospitals.

In the past few days, several Bollywood celebs have come forward to help the nation in whatever ways they can. From amplifying requests for help, to personally arranging hospital beds and oxygen, B-town celebs are going out of their way to help the needy people.

Sharing about his initiative, Varun took to his Twitter handle and wrote, “During uncertain times like these, our healthcare system needs utmost help. Since we know that oxygen is the need of the hour, I have contributed and partnered with @MissionOxygenIndia in their initiative to procure and donate life-saving oxygen concentrators to hospitals across the country. As a group of 30 something individuals who have managed to step up for the country in this time of need and raise over 21 crores for the procurement of 3900 OCs in under a week. I resonate deeply with their cause and urge everyone to help in whatever capacity possible.”

Apart from Varun, several other Bollywood celebs like Alia Bhatt, Bhumi Pednekar, Twinkle Khanna, Ayushmann Khurrana, Tahira Kashyap, Arjun Kapoor, Dia Mirza have lent their support to several NGOs and individuals who have been singlehandedly helping out the needy people.
