Vijay Varma Opens Up On Online Negativity And Trolling
Vijay Varma and Tamannaah Bhatia reportedly parted ways last year after being in a relationship for nearly two years. Some time ago, Vijay shared that he consciously chose to stay away from the spotlight for about 14 months, aiming to shift attention back to his professional work. He mentioned that conversations around him had drifted toward ‘everything else’ instead of his craft, subtly referring to his relationship and the subsequent separation.
Although neither of them publicly confirmed the breakup in explicit terms, speculation about the reasons behind it gained momentum. Certain reports suggested that differences regarding their future played a role. In a recent interaction with News18, Vijay opened up about how the constant scrutiny affected him negatively. “When we were growing up, saying something bad about someone on a public platform was frowned upon and not appreciated. Those who badmouthed were considered to be wrong. Abhi sab kuch ulta ho gaya hai. Jo gaali de raha hai, usko koi kuch nahi bol raha hai. The one who’s being subjected to these abuses will, in fact, have more people badmouthing rather than supporting them,” he shared.
Vijay Varma Addresses False Narratives Surrounding Him
Vijay reflected on the negativity and ‘false narratives’ that surrounded him over the past year. “The world is changing so fast. I’m not able to catch up. There has been an entire shift in the culture. The way people communicate and write comments is a little too excessive, direct and personal. Sometimes, there’s too much fabrication and too many lies,” he states.
The break also helped him strengthen his personal relationships. He shared that he stepped back to concentrate on what truly matters to him, that is, his work as an actor and storyteller, while also reconnecting with his loved ones. He recently moved into a larger home and has been making an effort to spend more time with his family.
The Darlings actor further added, “In fact, this is the third time that my mom is visiting me. She, along with my nieces and sister, is with me right now. I’m spending a lot of time with them. I’ve also begun prioritising my friends.” He admitted that his busy schedule had earlier created some distance between him and his friends, something he is now trying to mend. Vijay further added, “I realised that I wasn’t showing up for them as I would always remain busy with work. If I know that I’m free on a certain day, I immediately make plans with them. I’m now focused on bringing back a sense of belonging and reconnect with those who are my anchor.”
Vijay-Tamannah’s Relationship Timeline
Vijay Varma and Tamannaah Bhatia made their relationship official in 2023, often stepping out together and openly sharing glimpses of their bond. The two actors, who reportedly grew close while working on Lust Stories 2, are said to have gone their separate ways in early 2025 after being together for nearly two years.
According to various reports, differences in their perspectives on work and personal life may have led to the split, with some sources hinting at underlying disagreements. Although neither of them has confirmed the breakup publicly, it is believed that they quietly removed their pictures together from social media, further fueling speculation.
