The legendary actress got emotional during her speech as she expressed her gratitude. She said, “Thank you, thank you. Honourable Minister Anurag Thakur ji aur saare jury members ka mein bohot bohot shukriyada karti hu unhone mujhe ye award diya. I feel very honoured, very humbled.” She went on to add that she’s here here all thanks to the industry.

Adding to that, she thanked everyone including producers, directors, writers, costume designers and makeup artists who she has worked with over the years. She added, “Yeh mein award apne film industry ke saare departments’ ke saath share karna chahti hu. Unhone mujhe shuru din se bohot izzat di, aur bohot pyaar diya, aur bohot support kiya.”

Over the years, Waheeda Rahman has worked in movies like Kaagaz Ke Phool, Guide, Pyaasa, Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam, and Khamoshi among others. The 69^th National Film Awards is currently underway in Delhi. Many celebrities including Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon received their awards. The talented actresses jointly received the Best Actress award for their performances in Gangubai Kathiawadi and Mimi respectively.
