Zareen Khan files FIR against former manager

Actress Zareen Khan who made her Hindi film debut with Salman Khan’s ‘Veer’ was last seen in filmmaker Vikram Bhatt’s ‘1921’. The actress is back in news after filing an FIR against her former manager Anjali Atha. Zareen filed the FIR yesterday at Khar police station.

A report in Mumbai Mirror states that Zareen filed the case after she learnt that Anjali has been tarnishing her image in the industry by spreading baseless rumours about her. Apparently, Anjali was even accepting money by claiming to be Zareen’s agent even after she stopped working for her.

The actress’ lawyer Rizwan Siddiquee without revealing much about the case said, “To protect my client Ms. Zareen Khan’s name, image, reputation and dignity from any harm, and also for other willful criminal offences indulged in by my client’s erstwhile Manager Ms. Anjali Atha.”

He further added, “The matter now needs to be investigated further, therefore, an FIR was registered under Section 509 of Indian Penal Code. A woman’s dignity and reputation is of immense value and cannot be out at risk by anyone indulging in character assassination especially someone who was her representative once and was trusted blindly.”

Zareen Khan’s ex-manager is yet to make any comments on the case filed against her.
