Rajesh Sharma Clarifies He Didn’t Suffer Insect Bite On Prabhas’ Fauzi Sets; Says, “My Diabetes Was Very High”

Actor Rajesh Sharma has opened up about his hospitalisation earlier this year, putting to rest reports that he fell seriously ill after being bitten by an insect while shooting for Prabhas’ film in Hyderabad. Rajesh Sharma Clarifies He Didn’t Suffer Insect Bite

Rajesh was hospitalised in July after his health deteriorated. At the time, his close friend Sudipa Chatterjee had claimed in an Instagram post that the actor had suffered an insect bite while shooting at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. The now-deleted post led to reports suggesting that a poisonous insect or spider could have caused the infection.

However, Rajesh has now clarified that the reports were inaccurate. He explained that he had been dealing with a skin problem on his right leg for a long time and initially did not realise the severity of the condition. According to the actor, his high blood sugar levels further aggravated the problem.

“My treatment is over. Recovery is going on. Hopefully, I will start working in a week,” Rajesh told NDTV.

Rajesh Denies Insect Bite On Set

Addressing reports that he had been bitten by an insect while shooting for Prabhas’ film, Rajesh categorically denied the claim and clarified that neither the actor nor the film’s unit was responsible for his health issues.

“It’s false news. Nothing happened on Prabhas’s film set. Neither Prabhas nor the unit was responsible in any way. They are nice people. Nothing happened in Hyderabad while I was shooting there. After I flew back to Kolkata, in a day or two, the situation became severe. Because my diabetes was very high and I didn’t take it seriously at the beginning.”

The actor further explained that the infection was linked to a pre-existing skin problem on his right leg. “I have had a skin problem in my right leg for a long. From there, I have got the infection,” he added.

About Sudipa Chatterjee’s Deleted Post

The insect-bite claim originated from Sudipa Chatterjee’s Instagram post, which she later deleted after it gained widespread attention. Rajesh clarified that his friend had shared the information out of concern but had received incorrect information.“She’s a good friend. Out of concern, she posted that. But she was wrong informed,” Rajesh said.

In her now-deleted post, Sudipa had claimed, “Actor Rajesh Sharma reportedly suffered an insect bite-possibly from a bug or a poisonous spider-while shooting at Ramoji Film City for a film starring renowned actor Prabhas. After pack-up, Rajesh was chatting with local technicians in an area surrounded by dense vegetation when he felt an insect bite. As it did not seem serious at the time, he continued without seeking immediate medical attention.”

Her statement further claimed, “Despite his worsening condition, he boarded a flight back to Kolkata. During the journey, he developed a high fever, became increasingly restless, and his health deteriorated further. The following day, he was admitted to Manipal Hospital, Dhakuria. More than a day has passed since his hospitalisation, but he suffers from high fever, breathlessness and a progressing infection in his right leg.”

With Rajesh now clarifying the circumstances surrounding his hospitalisation, he has firmly denied any connection between his health condition and the shooting of Prabhas’ film in Hyderabad.
