Ajay Devgn and Saif Ali Khan starrer ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior‘ released alongside Deepika Padukone and Vikrant Massey starrer ‘Chhapaak‘. Now though both the films belong to different genres, it’s inevitable that their box-office performances will be compared.

Historical drama ‘Tanhaji’ is way ahead than ‘Chhapaak’, a film inspired by the real-life story of an acid attack survivor. On its day two at the ticket window, ‘Tanhaji’ has earned around Rs. 20.57 crore. So its overall total is Rs. 35.67 crores. Whereas ‘Chhapaak’ has managed to earn Rs. 11.67 crores in two days.

‘Chhapaak’ had collected around 4.77 crores on its opening day and around Rs. 6.90 crores on its day 2. Ajay Devgn’s 3D historical film seems to have struck a chord with the audience as its collection increased tremendously on day 2. The film collected around Rs. 20.57 crores on its second day.

Meghna Gulzar directorial ‘Chhapaak’ is a social drama film based on a sensitive issue of acid attacks, whereas ‘Tanhaji’ is in the commercial space. So that seems to be working in its favour.
